the toughest thing though, is trying to get the touch screen perfectly clean beforehand so you don't have little specs of stuff indenting the protector once applied.

Depending on some games, you really can get quite into it with the touch screen action and not realize how much activity you're doing to it. It's nice when you see the scratches/lines on the protector and realize that none of those are going to be on the actual screen itself.

Since the device stays closed when not in use it has no scratches on it.

Just make sure the kids always use a proper style not a ballpoint pen and make sure the kids don't press on the touchscreen too hard. Mine is used regularly by a 13 year old, I barely use it myself.

I picked up a used DS Lite for myself...but my kids will inevitably want to play with it (my wife makes me share).

Anyway, my question is...is the DS screen prone to scratching?

If yes, do they make any screen covers for it? Do you guys recommend a certain brand?
