Honestly, that is a lousy deal. OK, $23 is cheap... but it's a lousy player, only 1GB, and refurb, so you get what you pay for. That particular model is over 4 years old, which is an antique in the world of mp3 players. (To give you an idea how old this is - it came out around the same time as the first iPod with a color screen... but no video  )
If you want a super cheap mp3 player, check out the Sansa Clip. Newegg has them new, open box, and refurbished and you will get much better bang for your buck than with this Sony.
