Then it took us newbies buying into the NES to make it come back to life. No they put out absolute crap and expected us to pay $30 for it. Atari thought because ET made $400 million at the box office people would buy a game with ET on the box even if it sucked ass. They literally only took 5 weeks to make that game and it showed. That's just one example. Good call, except I was one of the sheep who bought into that intense E.T. game hype and was out $40 (at the time I think that was the game cost?). I just never saw what was so great about NES. At the time that came out, PC gaming was in it's golden age. I didn't jump back into consoles (from the Atari) until the Genesis came out. |

Then Coleco got stupid, they tried to enter the computer market and the Cabbage Patch Kid were the only thing to keep them afloat till they went out of business. By far a better system then anything else in the mid 80s. Then NES came and hooked all the younger gamers with Mario and stole the market after the crash.
I had a Commodore 128d then a PC and got back into consoles with a PS original the Xbox, 360 and Wii. I like mostly racing and puzzle/adventure games. I used to play a lot of Halo when it was new and spent days playing MotoGP on live right after launch.
Being 44 I find myself not keeping up with the younger ones like my 14 YO son. I just have to play against my wife or daughter, then I can almost always win. |
