Re: More techs and less lawyers »The FCC Finally Gets A New Boss
start steering the FCC from an agency of partisan loyalists and lawyers to one that makes decisions based on, well, technology. So they put a guy in charge that has a Doctorate in Law from Harvard Law School? Sounds like the lawyers are still going to be running things to me.
The rest of the new FCC: Robert McDowell - lawyer & currently on FCC Mignon Clyburn - degree in banking & daughter of powerful Dem House politician Michael Copps - PhD in History & legislative aide & FCC member 1 unknown Republican yet to be named - ???
Doesn't look like any engineering talent in the policy making positions at the FCC. Looks more like the lawyers & pols that have always run things. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page |

 | Well it's kind of necessary to have someone who understands the intricacies of the law system in charge of the FCC. At the same time what you hope is that he surrounds himself with technology savvy experts and listens to them for advice in setting policy. |
