Re: Can I have 2 IP Addresses?

Thank you for all the replies.

When I spoke with a moderator and was asked to check the IPs of my sign-in logs, I found I had 5 different IPs.

Sometimes when I log into personal accounts, I receive an alert which indicates my computer is not recognized and I must answer prearranged personal questions.

I have never had power outages, nor has my modem been turned off or have been reset.

I used CCleaner before logging in this morning and recall doing so on 2 ocassions before I logged into an account and was told my computer was not recognized.

I also was concerned something was amiss, however now it does not appear to be.

Your power could have gone out briefly, cutting off your modem. When the power came back on the modem could have acquired a new connection with a new IP address. Just one idea of how it could have happened.

I'm not sure that I understand the question.

I have often seen that message. I'm not sure what you find bothersome about it.

If I login into my work system, I am also told the IP of my last login. That's just meant to be information for the person logging in. If I were to see a "last login" ip address that was not similar to the ones I have used, I might be suspicious that somebody else had broken into my account. By providing that information, the site gives me a way of checking.

No. More than likely your ISP is using some sort of Dynamic IP allocation. Sometimes it just changes of its own accord.

Hello,

I just logged into this forum using the same home computer, username and password I always use and was met by the following message:

Welcome Cora,

This browser will remain logged in
Last login not from 96.224.xxx.xxx was from 96.224.xx.xxx (6 days ago)
Your account is a basic free account

In logging in, you agree to site terms of use

The only possible change I may have made was in browsers. Sometimes I use IE and sometimes I use FF. Can this cause me to have 2 IP addresses?
