Edit: to add to this.... I'm not even sure RCN will get the channels I listed above for a while. Viacom is very particular on who they will give HD channels at this point. It's kind of like four or five years ago, when they didn't want to renew with DISH. They wanted so much money and dish wasn't having it... that is.... until DISH lost so many customers they paid for the channels. I'm sure RCN is most likely in the same boat with Viacom now. Viacom probably wants a fortune, and RCN is saying no thank you until you lower it to X amount. And this might not be the issue with RCN, maybe it's more technical and less financial. But the Viacom/DISH issue is a true story. |

any new HD channels in the works?...havn't heard about any new channels since Cartoon HD launched on July 1st...lost in all the hoopla over the Tivo announcement have been any new additions to the HD lineup |

Just saw on TVGuide's website that they got syndication/cable rights for Ugly Betty. While I rarely used their network, it would be nice to see TVGuide Channel come back for this alone. I don't suppose there's a TVGuide Channel HD? |

I agree,RCN has added most of the important channels and now there are only a few remaining...BBC,comedy channel,VH1 and MTV and a couple of the movie channels such as TCM and Foxmoviechannel would be nice |

I think RCN has been doing a nice job adding some very good channels in the past few months...NBATV HD, MLB HD, Cartoon HD...we can't get every channel we want but there are only a handful remaining which I really have high on my list---> MSNBC HD, Comedy Central HD, BBCAmerica HD and Palladia HD come to mind |

I just sent an channel request message via RCN's website about BBCAHD. I got a response fairly quickly saying there are no plans to add that channel to the lineup.
Oh, well, I guess Torchwood in standard def. will have to do (or wait until HDNet starts airing the new season). |

As of right now (5:44 AM CST) the show on just seems to be a stretched & upscaled version of the SD channel, which is kinda annoying
Don't see anything else new on the lineup, and still no MSNBC-HD, TCM HD or any of those Viacom ones that RCN have yet to dip into carrying. |
