While certainly far from finalized, 4G (aka IMT Enhanced) throughput is supposed to be a 100Mb minimum with peak throughput of 1 gigabit which obviously no carrier currently has and LTE and similar technologies don't currently meet. Looking at device reviews, Sprint's 4G network is running around 6-7Mb. These upgrades are certainly welcome but for Sprint to call them 4G is way premature.
Like EDGE was dubbed 2.5G, these 7-15Mb networks are more like 3.25G.
