Got it in Hinsdale (60521) at 12:08 am 6/25/09. Two slight improvements I see are:

1-Channels seem to change more quickly than before. Maybe this is due to another change/upgrade in network. Also the system info screens have additional information.

2-The "skip" button seems to work a little bit more smoothly than the previous (downgrade from instant) skip function.

BTW- I don't believe that being able to pause live TV from non-dvr stb will ever be implemented (at least with 2SD/2HD profile) since it would mean that if two people were watching an HD program on different sets, then a third show could not be recorded.
In part you've answered your own question. If your are watching 2hd programs on 2 sets and then scheduled another HD program to record then once that show's scheduled time arrived I'm sure you would be prompted to either ignore the recording or end one of your HD programs being watched

As stated you answered your own question. I am sure a pop up warning would tell you what's about to happen.

The same limitation as watching any live streams. Being able to "pause" shouldn't limit the number of live streams but it won't get you any more either.
I think (and I will try today) I should be able to get very close to the "pause live TV experience" by just pressing RECORD from the non-DVR STB and then watching the recorded stream. That can be paused/rewound/fast forwarded in real time. Again limited by the max number of concurrent live streams.

Agree. I pretty much do the same thing from main STB when I want to watch a show in "near real time" sans commercials. I record it and start watching show/game 15 minutes later. By the time it is over I have "caught up" with real show.

System changed by upgrade...a mess!

I was out of town on business from the 23rd to 26th (Friday) and I found it had installed during that time in 92782. What a mess! The update had messed up the settings on my brand new Bravia LCD badly and I still haven't gotten it to look as good as when I left.
No, my wife had not made any changes...she's not technically savvy. Whatever is on the screen looks fine to her. I found that the UVerse had set the HD to 480p, so that went back to 1080i, which helped, but the screen still doesn't look as crisp as before.
Has anyone else experienced this??

Re: U-Verse Phase II rollouts - post if you have it

Got it early this morning in Torrance, CA (90502). Dolby Digital 5.1 surround now works over HDMI. The STBs now also have record/delete ability. A nice update.

And, at some point in the last 24 hours, the dolby digital secondary update happened - dd5.1 over optical is working again, and better yet, NO AUDIO DROPOUTS! My biggest u-verse complaint is fixed ...

It's pretty obvious. Your whole menu system color wise has changed. It's not blue/light blue but aqua that's easiest give way.

Second is trying to schedule/delete a recording from the STB.

Ah, ok. The power went out and during the reboot, still nothing.

Re: System changed by upgrade...a mess!

Dan,

I didn't experience this issue at all during my upgrade. I have 3 HDTVs and all STB's retained their settings for 1080i/720p. It could have been a one off issue. What kind of STB's do you have? Motorola or Cisco boxes? Granted this is just my experience and I can't speak for what specifically happened in your case.

Re: System changed by upgrade...a mess!

I was able to adjust the settings back to looking great, so no damage done.
It's a Motorola box, but I just wanted to give a heads up to any others who get surprised.

I would bet that if you're TV is connected via HDMI, then you have to reset your 1080/720 setting, but if it's connected via component you do not.

I have my set connected via component, and the upgrade maintained my setting (1080i).

After the Phase 2 update, you may have to reset the Aspect Ratio on the DVR and STB's and select the type of audio output (stero or surround sound) from the System Options menu. AT&T send a message to each of my boxes reminding me to check those settings after the update. Also, this information is shown on Channel 400 (AT&T U-verse TV Updates).
