| said by Doctor Olds:What IP are you trying to use in the DMZ that gives you the error? The Windstream 5200 and 4200 both work with the Xbox original and the Xbox 360. You can turn off UPnP in the Speedstream as it does not work with the Xbox. The Xbox 360's UPNP will work with a Speedstream 5200/4200 when it is the sole router (ie. no double NAT) No need for DMZ or port-forwards.
Also The Xbox 360's UPNP will work on most (not all but most now work) NAT routers that support it that are also not double NATed, I don't know where you got it in your head that it doesn't. Iv proved it to you before that it dose indeed work (with the few exceptions).

yea i figured upnp doesnt work causei tried that. the ip im trying to use is 192.168.0.106. it connects but has strict nat. jmoney if you could post exactly what model modem and router you have that will help. Most likely what is going on is "Double NAT" which would cause UPNP, DMZ and portfowards all to fail and give your xbox a strict NAT rating. -- AMD Phenom II x3 720 BE @ 3.5Ghz(OC) | 4Gb Memory @ 1600mhz | Sapphire ATI HD4870 1GB 800mhz/1000mhz(OC) | 2x500GB HDD's Raid 0 | Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Build 7100 |
