well, cartoonnetwork hd just aired star wars clone wars in fakehd 
so i guess for now it's safe to say that everything is just stretched instead of broadcasting HD when it's available 
however while watching king of the hill i noticed that HD channel showed a bit more a picture..maybe 5-10 pixels more on the sides.

TCM-HD back is up again... 
It seems to me that although it's on a HD channel, it's not broadcasting anything in HD at all. A visit to their website or just listening to the channel itself, not a single mention of HD whatsoever, not even a "HD" logo to be seen. I hope at some point soon, they do start broadcasting some stuff in HD as I really like their content. |

Yea me too nothing talked about there HD, or what movies will be in HD,maybe they only started i heard on June 6 , maybe it takes awhile
Got this off of AVS Forum
"EVERYTHING WILL BE SHOWN IT ITS ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIO. No stretching. No cropping. No exceptions.
- The bad news: For right now, everything is being upconverted, rather than being shown in native HD. This is temporary (a year or two?) and as my friend pointed out (and has been discussed here) the material still looks worlds better than it does on the SD channel". |

Thanks... yes, I have noticed they are shown in the OAR (Dr. Zhivago, Bridge On the River Kwai, Rear Window and Vertigo to name a few). I hope it's not too long before they start showing some stuff in true HD. |

2 edits | Howie and others in the Oakland system: It's odd how you fellas have had so much trouble receiving the new channels until today when the rest of us it seems received them on schedule. Channel 845 QVC-HD is finally up, no more blank screen.
Atleast on Friday when they added the other channels they put up 723 for MSNBC HD with the message it'll be here tomorrow. No early debut like they did with MLB network it seems. |

1 edit | Well MSNBC-HD is up and running....though it still has that annoying static line blinking on and off on the bottom when they initially put the channel with the msg that it was coming on Monday so it's on Cablevision's end. Will have to wait until later on this morning when their live programming shows come on to see how that new graphics package looks, I would hope by then that static line would be gone. |
