jittery and weirdly interlaced.

Does it seem like the MSNBC-HD graphics aren't clear either?

Wouldn't that be hard to tell for sure with the weird interlacing; skipping/jittering; and squeezing it into a QAM with 3 other HD channels?

Good points, I hope Cablevision fixes it. I did call in a ticket on it and it got moved on to engineering. The usual 24-48 hour window for a response.

Yes, that blinking line on the bottom is extremely distracting. Is that Cablevision or MSNBC?

That's Cablevision Joshua, that blinking line was there when they first put up Channel 723 on Friday with the message that MSNBC HD was coming on Monday.

I just noticed this Turner ad on Multichannel News.

I'm surprised HLN-HD wasn't included in the latest HD addtions since they've recently added every other Turner station available (Boomerang, CN-HD, TCM-HD, TruTV-HD).

I don't think anyone is carrying it yet. Perhaps despite the ad, it hasn't launched. Don't be shocked to see this one added soon.

I think they would add HLN-HD soon, but like with TruTV-HD there is no HD on it, so some of these chnnels are a waste as far as HD

As I expected, neither CV or the BTN has any info at this time about the Big Ten Network overflow channels. I guess we won't find out until late August or early September.

said by CV email response :

Please be advised that information about the overflow games is not yet available. You can check on this by going to our web-site at www.optimum.com and refer to the channel guide there for any replacement of overflow games.

I apologize for the inconvenience.
said by BTN email response :

Good afternoon! Thanks for the email. We are not yet sure about the overflow channel situation with Cablevision for the fall. Please contact them, or use our channelfinder in the fall once updated, to find out where to find your games.

Sincerely,
The Big Ten Network

Looks like the picture quality issues with MSNBC-HD are fixed. No more blinking static bar on the bottom and it looks sharp with no jitteryness.

No, no TCM in HD here yet. I'm hoping it won't be too long as even old widescreen films from the 50's on look great in HD.
Here's an old 1963 film (The Nutty Professor) that was on AMC-HD, and if you ask me, it never looked better (Stella Stevens, too!).

The source who leaked the original launch news said he was told no true HD for at least a year. I think I linked to it somewhere in here.

"For right now, everything is being upconverted, rather than being shown in native HD. This is temporary (a year or two?) and as my friend pointed out (and has been discussed here) the material still looks worlds better than it does on the SD channel."

Thanks for the info, you would think that if they were'nt going to put on true HD for a year or 2 , why put out an HD channel now, even know it still looks better than the SD channel

Put the channel out now so that by the time they do start showing true HD, they should be on every system out there and people won't have to call their providers to carry it then.

HD-PVR Recording of TCM-HD in SD
I'm really impressed with some of the SD offerings on TCM-HD. "The Wizard of Oz" (1939) looks just plain outstanding, even in SD. I can't wait until they switch to HD!
