Re: Broadband choices in Missouri City 77459

Sign me up. I want FIOS available to us in MoCity. UVerse is widespread in Houston already, and MoCity is still stuck with horrible cable service. I can drop my DirecTV, Comcast internet, AT&T Wireless, and Vonage and happy to move to Verizon if FIOS will be available to me.

I would love to sign up for it. I think we need to pressure Missouri City Government to get FIOS to the city. The cable service just plane SUCKS here.

Poor customer service, install delays, and hidden fees in billing are common consequences of exclusive marketshare. Residents in 77459 would benefit from having a fiber provider choice to checkmate comcast stranglehold. For example, residents in Acssension parishs, LA can select blazing fast fiber digital tv and internet together for flat fee nonipromotional $50 or go with cox expanded cable tv and slow basic tier for $70. There is a big sign on I10 in Acssension parish that describes this choice ever so succintly, "Eatell fiber, Acssension loves it, Cox hates it".

Missouri City residents can have similar choice and benefits. Would you back a petition to pre sign-up and to bring fiber choice to Missouri City?

thank you very much that is great to know.

anyone have any comments on which electric providers are better?
I know that for gas I have centerpoint, that is also an option for electric, any pros or cons for that one or any other electric providers? I do not want to get stuck in one of those contract hell deals I have heard about.

NO bundle service from them. I do not want any Landline installed at all. Cell phones between my wife and I will be enough. I get TV from Dish.

Yeah i found out that Verizon does offer DSL but pricing is not nearly as good as one would think. Of course FIOS is not available.

Anyway, Comcast just installed the cable today after apologizing for no shows last week. Also they gave me a 12-month for $15.99/month deal on the new 16mb/2mb plan...

I wish I could help you but I am in a similar situation. I am just contracting on a house in Bammel Forest and have no info on any of the utilities in the area and none were listed in the disclosure form so that was no help.

I have verizon fios now and will sure hate to lose it wish I could transport it with me.

I know there is some type of cable in the house because I saw it. No clue what my options are either.

good luck!
In that area phone is At&t, cable is Comcast, gas is Center Point, you can pick your own electric company.

Most of Missouri City is Verizon territory. About the only options for that area are Verizon DSL or Comcast since FIOS is not availble there yet.

I just bought a home in Missouri City (77459) Cross lakes & Austin Parkway (Heretage Colony)

I initiated Comcast to transfer my HSI service to my new address and guess what? They NEVER showed!! Someone from there finally called and offered to do the install on Monday 6/22/2009...

Pissed, I called Windstream and they told me that they DO NOT service my area at all and ATT has no idea if my address is serviceable, it'd be nice to get Verizon FIOS but of course they don't serve my new residence..

Does anyone here know any other broadband services other than Comcast?? Am I really stuck with them??
