Bundle prices vary by market. Here in Tampa your bundle costs 79.99.

So far it isn't looking like Florida is getting any type of deal as was rumored. I would like the extra speed but not at $10+. At $5 I would have considered it.

EDIT: Actually looks like I jumped to quick and the best bundle drops by $10 which will be nice if I comparing them correctly.
I don't think they are offering us any good deal here in Tampa. I am currently paying $94.99 for:

Freedom Essentials Phone ($24.01)
Internet 10/2 ($33.99)
Premier TV ($36.99) - channel lineup puts it somewhere between Essentials & Extreme HD

So for $15 more a month I can get the Good bundle and upgrade my internet speed to 15/5 and downgrade my TV to Essentials!?! hmmm - NOT!

For $25 more a month I can get the Better bundle and upgrade my internet speed to 25/15 and upgrade my TV to Extreme HD where I still don't get Spike HD but I do get the Cooking Channel HD!?! hmmm - again, NOT!

I don't see any deals here for me.

After playing around some more on the site - it does look like the All Access Movie pak (all premiums) is going up from $30/mo to $35...

In reality, at least here in DE - it looks like this is what happened:

The bundle is going up from $109.99 to $119.99 - and the premiums are going up $5 / month.

So, if I were to keep what I have - and get the 25/15 bump - it looks like i'd be paying $15 MORE per month.

At this point, i'm not sure if I'll take the plunge or not. I thought we were in a shitty economy and dealing with competition? LOL.

Looks like I'd pay $20 more per month than New Yorkers plus get a lower internet speed (25/15 vs 35/20). Wow...numbers really do speak.

In the end though, I'll still give em' a call tomorrow and see what's up.

I agree with you JeepMatt. In this economy where I am watching everything I spend, these are not good deals.

Chaser (page 2) hit the nail on the head - "For some of us, this isn't an upgrade, it's a downgrade."

They are still changing the packaging.

In RI, the Double Freedom is $80 and $90, or $30 and $40, depending on when I try to order. Trying to order the $30 has no details for the phone.

I think online ordering is still being updated. Wait until it settles down, unless you want to go through BillingHell(tm), a free service offered by Verizon at no-additional charge.

2 weeks of total chaos, is my guess. i don't need to get in the middle of that.

Until/unless someone comes back with a $10 discount for existing customers, as when Extreme TV came out, I can't justify playing in this game. TV is up $10, which means they're now charging for HD, and unless you move up your internet speed too, your bundle discount shrinks. At least that's how I read the various changes, by playing with the bundle options.

Sorry, mentioning this fluff thing again so any discussion related to it can continue in this thread from the other.

I'm hoping someone from Verizon can definitively explain this "fluff" thing and what it really means. I really hope it's not something like powerboost!
As far as I can tell, the term "fluff" was first mentioned here: »Re: Any new Speed tiers?

And that seems to refer to the practice of VZ over-provisioning the download speed so that when you do a speed test it shows the d/l speed you signed up for rather than a lower number caused by normal tcp/ip overhead so that folks won't complain that they aren't getting what they are paid for.

Hopefully vzguy1 will confirm but for now I would not assume that this is a gimmick like powerboost.

I guess we will have to wait for tomorrow to see what the actual cost is for current triple play customers. I too went online, my current 109.99 package is listed as 119.99 now but it also has the teaser of the netbook to sign up.

My thought ( or hope ) is current customers can get the speed bump without the 10 dollar hit as the higher price is to cover the 2X increase in incentive $$ ( 150 Visa card vs the new net book promotion )

I was hoping to do this online, now I'll wait till someone finds out for sure to what the speed bump costs ...

Existing customers wanting the netbook have to upgrade to their new triple bundles and will end up paying $99+S/H+tax for the netbook.

Existing customers won't get any speed increase if you don't sign up for the more expensive bundles.

I know a comparison was made and/or it was mentioned, but it sounded to me like it was something more significant than something compensating for the overhead of TCP/IP.

The overhead of TCP/IP is only about 2.67 %. So for a 25/15 plan, you'd be talking provisioned speeds 25.67 down and 15.4 up.

The 'fluff' seemed like it was something more, but I guess we'll find out Monday when some speed tests start flowing in

This page was available under My Services on the My Verizon web site. I was logged on to my account to see it.

Pretty weird that 35/20 and 25/15 are both available...at the same price.

My current monthly charges are $99.99 Triple Freedom (includes 20/5 Internet speeds and Extreme HD) plus $30 for all the premium movie channels (total = $129.99). If I understand all this mumbo jumbo correctly, the NEW deal (with an annual or 6-month agreement) would be $134.99, or $5 per month more than I'm paying now, for the exact same thing I currently have, with the exception of the bump in Internet speeds from 20/5 to 25/15.

Worth it??? I don't know. First, when I go through the initial steps of the online ordering process I don't see anything about getting the Compaq Mini Netbook for $99, which, frankly, would be one of the justifications for upgrading into a higher monthly fee. Second, I have roughly 6 months left on my current annual agreement, so over that time period I'd be paying an additional $30 (6 x $5/mo) for the speed bump (and POSSIBLY the option to buy the Netbook at the special price...which I can't confirm). I'm not sure 25/15 is worth spending $5/mo for when I'm pretty happy with 20/5. Third, the online ordering process says I can save $5/mo for 6 months by ordering online. If true, that would exactly offset the $5/month increase of the new bundle...but the thought of ordering online scares me!

I wonder, if I DON'T renew now, what will happen in 6 months when my current bundle agreement expires? Will the bundle offers be even more expensive then?

I thought I read somewhere not too long ago that the higher speed tiers will be rolled out in August to all customers for free upon request. Does that mean I'd be able to get 25/15 speeds in August without a billing change just by calling and asking for it? Or has that notion been totally shot down? Guess I'm still a bit confused by all this.

I was going to sign up for 25/15 today - but they did away with the discount for FIOS Internet + Wireless One Bill (with no Phone or TV) and want 69.99 now...
On the old 20/5 plan it was 45.00 after discount.... (Now I would pay 49.99 for just 15/5...).
I guess I'll stick with what I have for now...

Yeah it looks like it only benefits you at the top package. Now the question is if I switch do I lose the $30 off a month for 6 months since I opted for that over the Visa card?

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you, my current 2-yr bundle ends in November. What will happen to my monthly price? Will my only option be to go to the "Better" bundle for $25 more per month? I have no idea what the month-to-month price increase would be. Will they let me stay on the now discontinued Premier TV package? Will they keep me on the now discontinued 10/2 internet tier? Its hard to make an informed decision without all the information.

On the surface, these new bundles and prices are not a good deal for me, but waiting for my 2-yr agreement to end, could be worse.

Is the $64.99 for the 25/15 before bundle savings? I'm trying to make a decision to get it or not, for a $3-$4 I'd probably make the switch but not for another $13.

I found a "Bundles" tab and tried to go there and got a "server busy, try later error."

But my current contract doesn't expire until April, 2010. When I click on the 24 month price guarantee link I get this little jewel.

I want to be careful because the reason I came over to FiOS in the first place was to save some $$$. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot.

edit: Looking at the bundles page you posted, NY Tel, it seems as if I currently have the first package, but at $94.99/mo.
