My immediate neighbor has FIOS but only cabletv. She doesn't have the internet. There is something strange going on.

Thanks for that link - when I use that site, I get:
Download speed 25510 Kbps (socket test) Upload speed 24179 Kbps (socket test) Quality of service 98 % Maximum delay 6 ms Round trip time 17 ms
I wonder if the Speedtest.net site is having issues? -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |

| I've never gotten consistent results from any of the speedtest.net locations here, actually.

| reply to The Folsom It's so ridiculous how verizon customer service can only add new services but if you want to cancel one, it has to go through another department and could take 1-2 weeks. Stupid pending order from 2006 won't allow any new orders to go through (20/5-25/15). From June 23rd to now, nothing has been changed. Awsome service!
Yet, we change premier to extreme hd go through in January. I think this is a stall on their end for some reason. Can't wait to see the next bill, I bet it will be fobar'd. |

| reply to The Folsom Hey guys, I just got FIOS internet installed today. Since I only got internet, the guy didn't mind running the cat6 cable that I gave him. The 2 techs were really cool and they did a great job. Anyway, here is my speed test result for 15/5.
local LA server only gives me 2-3 Mbps on the upload. |

What plan are you on? 15/15 was a valid speed tier a while ago. Unless you called to upgrade, it's quite conceivable that you'd still be on 15/15 unless you called back when there was a free upgrade from 15/15 to 20/20. -- He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have. -Socrates |

| I think Speedtest.net site is having issues. At least on the upload test.
On MySpeed:
Download speed 26118 Kbps (socket test) Upload speed 25742 Kbps (socket test) Quality of service 99 % Maximum delay 9 ms Round trip time 12 ms
But on Speedtest.net I'm only at 15 upload. |

The Comcast speedtest site seems to be consistent. Certainly many times more consistent than the FIOS speed test site. With the Comcast site I'll hit my new negative fluff speed of 49.3mbs down and around 19mbs up for the negative fluff for upload. The FIOS speed test won't get higher than 33mbs down and 10mbs up for me. |

1 edit | said by SoCalDude :FIOS 15/5 I really need to dump my crappy 50/20 tier. I'll make my decision in August to see if they make any changes. If nothing improves, I'll change and save myself around $50 a month and I guess FIOS loses that $50 a month from me. |

| Thanks Jeep and Darc.
The DC test server for Speedtest.net is having problems. I tried Ashburn, VA and got 25/25, which is awesome!
Jeep, also like you pointed out - Visualware gave me 26/26.
I'm a happy camper since I am paying for 25/15.

I can actually hit a negative fluff speed of 49.5 mbs from there compared to 47mbs from Asburn. But Asburn shows a better negative fluff upload at 19mbs compared with 16mbs for the DC site.
Still nothing like the speeds I had for a year before they borked my connection. |
