However, by default, you will be populating the database if not already on there, making their data far more valuable! Catch 22 if ever there was one.
For unsolicited marketing calls, then use the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) register here:

TPS has sister services FPS and MPS (dig about on the site)
In my experience, this cuts out 99% of all unsolicited calls, faxes and Mail shots. Of the odd 1% that does get through, just reference TPS and watch how fast they hang up! |

3 edits | TPS is exellent. It's cut our number of sales calls dramatically.
There's only one which gets through and that's BT. We're with BT but don't want to hear their sales spiel so I've reported them to the TPS for making unsolicited marketing calls. I don't suppose anything will happen but if they keep calling I'll keep reporting
