[DIRECTV] Elevation setting

Would the elevation setting given by Direct TV for your zip code, change with the distance of the dish, off the ground ?

If mounted 50' to clear tree blockage, wouldn't that elevation change slightly ?

Yes (theoretically ... to a whole bunch of decimal places), but only about the same amount as you'd see from moving the dish 50' horizontally.

In other words ... no change.

Remember, you're aiming at an object about 25,000 miles away. Relatively small movements on the ground have very little impact on aiming.
