anon : The entries are a direct copy and paste of what my DIR-655 had logged. When speaking to Teksavvy, they were surprised to see that my Router was trying to authenticate eventhough I was already connected.

Thats why they originally thought it was my equipment and could explain why the entries are out of place. I had tried swtiching to routed mode and tried with the modem as my PPOE client and then as VISTA as my PPOE Client however in all instances, it on kept happening - the PPOE disconnects.

Well, I am happy to report that my connection has finally been fixed (so I hope). After speaking to teksavvy on and off for 3.5 weeks, they finally fixed it. Ever since they corrected that major 416 authentication outage on Monday and since they enabled error correction on my profile, it has been stable ever since. It has been almost 6 days now.

Don't know what to reccommend to those still experiencing the problem - perhaps just be persistent and keep calling into Teksavvy - eventually they will find the source.

anon : Im in the Yonge and Finch Area and I have been having the same problem for almost 3 weeks now. My Speedtouch Lights are all on, solid green (except for Ethernet which blinks occassionally). As soon as the problem starts, I receive packet loss for about 30 seconds and then the PPOE session is lost. Anywhere from 2 - 30 minutes, my router will continuously try to establish a PPOE session, but it will always timeout. It usually takes a while before it starts up again.

Anyways, I have been in constant communication with the support team over the past 3 weeks.

At first they thought it was my equipment. After a couple of days trying different combinations (i.e. putting it in routed mode and back to bridge mode (using vista as a PPOE client) and then on a different router), I was convinced it wasnt my equipment.

Second time around, they thought they had fixed it. Bell technician went to the central office and "did something" (they were unable to see what they did in the ticket). It worked for 1 day.

3rd Time around, they supposedly fixed a line card. It worked for 72 hours without a problem.

4th time around, it was a Bell network issue in the 416.
So far (knock on wood), my connection has been stable for the past 12 hours.

I hope this is the last time I experience this issue.
