Mount Prospect, IL | TV Guide Can someone tell me why it takes so long for the TV Guide to reset itself after a power surge or outage.
Here in my area even after 24 hrs it is still not finished. Still shows "To be Announced".
For example right now it is 5 PM and when I go to today at 9 PM it says "To be Announced". |

That is one solution I am thinking about. But, sometimes our outages are fairly long when they do occur.
With their hi speed internet and phone service why can they do something about this.
Can you imagine making a phone call and it takes 5 minutes to dial and make a connection. |

its not loading a shit ton of data though when you pick up your phone to dial....
your boxes are...and their processors are slow as hell (25-50mhz ish)
your cell phone might be more powerful... |

Program Guide data is distributed on a schedule. Programming for the next few hours is distributed very frequently. Programming for the next day is distributed less frequently. Programming for the next two weeks is distributed even less frequently. This ensures that the service serves the most immediate needs for program guide data in the most timely manner, deferring population of the rest of the program guide in proportion to how critical such information is. |

Or an alternative to CC is one I switched to a number of months ago. Much better, IMO.
