| Bridging 2Wire 2701HG with Netgear wg602v3
I have a 2Wire 2701HG AT&T supplied modem / wireless router connected to the outlet in my living area behind my media center. This currently allows my two laptops and PS3 to connect to he internet flawlessly and also allows my Direct TV, Bluray player to connect via RJ45 Ethernet via the ports on the rear of the device. I have now kitted out my office in the house which has a very bad wireless signal, seems to be a dead area. I my office i have a PC with wireless LAN and also my printer which has the ability to be put on a network. (it's an HP 2570). So, i found in my box of tricks from many moons ago an old Netgear Wg602v3 that i thought i could use as a wireless access point. My plan was to put this in the corner of my office where the printer is and hook the printer into the ethernet port on the back of the device, this would in theory network my printer. I would then have my PC (in the dead zone) connect wirelessly to the Netgear and therefore to the 2Wire and get on the internet.
Question: What settings do i need to make all this happen? Is the Netgear capable of this? What other hardware do I need to make all this work? |
