| Weird question Ok...I may be a complete idiot but not sure where to post this. And I did search to see if someone else had already done this.
My question is, when I have saved a picture from the internet, its 143 KB in size. Now to use it in my Team Fortress 2 game as a spray, it needs to be 120 KB or less. But when I just resave it and don't change anything, the size goes from 143 to 74 KB. All I am changing is the name. When it goes that low in size if you have words on it or anything, they don't look right in game. But I need to cut 23 KB somewhere somehow to use it.
Like from This.jpg to This2.jpg. And for some reason the size gets cut in half. I am using Paint since I don't like using other programs (since you have to torrent/pay for them), and don't do a lot of things requiring a really complex tool. Anyone have any ideas why it would do this?
Help me Obi-w...I mean DSLR...your my only hope. Thanks for any help all.

| Re: Weird question It might be the color settings when you save it. If you save an image at 256 colors it will be much larger than if you save it at 63 colors. Lower color settings will also degrade an image, which when text is involved it will be noticeable most of the time. -- Sometimes My Mind Wanders.....Other Times It Leaves Completely! | |

Load the image then look at image/attributes, save the file, then load it again and check the attributes.
