Re: Random disconnects - Wise County, TX area

the long outages have stopped thankfully, the internet had been working good for awhile, but now within the last few weeks or so some days the internet works perfectly fine and then some days it disconnects me randomly (usually once every 30-45m, and it seems to happen more in the evening/night). It's doing it again now, very irratating, it reconnects right away but it's pretty much impossible for me to play any games now cause it makes me start everything over and screws up all my stuff. argh.

Similar issues here in NW Denton County TX ( 8 mi. west of Sanger ). Had a short disconnect today (6-26) around 12:30p....only lasted about 5 mins. Was down 1 to 2 hours earlier this week around 1p or so.....then down again around 5p or 6p that same day. Generally it's up "most" the time.....but do have these occasional issues.

You're not the only one, Im in Denton County and we have had a problem with disconnects all day everyday for more than a week. Supposedly there is a problem in the area, but they dont know what, and they are supposedly sending someone to the office to look at our problem. 1. Ill believe it when I see it, 2. Im sure they will be an hour or more late!

yes yes I know, I'm not retarded. they're not online all at once, I meant I've tried using them seperately with a direct connection meaning it's not my computer at fault. last year when I called them all theydid was tell me to do a rollback on my computer and check my filters which was no help at all cause that's not the issue.

i have 2 of the 660 modems, one's bridged to stop it acting like a router for better nat, other just has all the default settings.

In order to help you a few things need to be answered. What type of modem do you have and what is the model number?

When you are losing connection what lights are on/off on the modem?

If you have two modems and both of them are hooked up, you cannot get DSL on both. Which ever modem pulls DSL first will have it. So if you are not using a router but two different DSL modems on the same line both connected, you WILL have issues.

If you are wanting to use 3 comps and a PS3 and do not have some sort of routing device how are they all online at the same time?

Give us some more details as to how you have this all setup.

@embarqhsd.net

Been getting disconnected randomly, the internet will also be down during various parts of the day, usually during the same time frames lasting a few hours. Ironically the same thing happened to me last summer, with it fixing itself eventually.

Anyone know what could be wrong? It's not the modem, as I have 2, not using a router, and I also have 3 comps and a PS3 and it does this to all three. All filters and whatnot are clear as well.
