Do you ever get escalated to Tier 2? |

| Well that eliminates the rip and rebuild. When in doubt, rip it out.
Odds are your line stats are scheiße. Line stats can be found through this FAQ: »Ameritech - SBC FAQ »Where are the Line Stats in a 5100b or 4100? Change appropriately for different modems. |

| I talked to a buddy here at work a few minutes ago. He's a former ATT'er and knows alot about DSL. He says he thinks my modem is bad. It is a Motorola modem that I got back in December. They had to replace my old Speedstream modem that I had since 2000. Thanks for the link! |

| On June 12th, I replaced my original modem (a SpeedStream 5260) that had worked rock solid since I first got DSL a number of years ago ... replaced it with the latest Motorola from ATT ... AND I still have a speed issue ... see my post in this same forum regarding the chronology of the issue.
So don't spend the extra $49 or so for a new one until you're absolutely sure that the modem is the problem ... at least that's my 2 cents. |
