If an ISP blocks pings is that bad for online gaming, or does it matter?
I have a speedstream 4200 ohio modem with a D-Link WBR-2310 router.

Although I am not a gamer, a ninja ( fourboxers ) told me that blocking pings doesn't affect online gaming.

Seeing that I am not a gamer and have never used a DLink router, I'm going to let someone else answer that for you.

Have you tried asking your ISP if they are blocking pings?

Thanks for the help, i'll call my ISP asap and ask them.

Let us know what they say. I've run across 1 ISP that doesn't accept pings but I can't remember which one.
