Re: 'Forcing' EVDO vs. 1XRTT in Sprint via Millenicom?

Thanks, Jim.

I tried this, but there is no tab called "mobile". These are the eight tabs that are under tools and then settings:

Client, Sounds, Updates, Hardware, VPN, Acceleration, Applauncher, Location/1GPS.

Is there anything else I can do or can I download another version of "smart view" or some other connection version?

Thank you.

Christy

Thanks. I have the latest version when I checked that link. Thank you for that.

Under the "hardware" tab, I did find something like what might be what you were referring to:

It says 'devices' then way over to the right it says 'selection' 'status' and 'settings'.

Below that, it says 'mobile devices' and has the choices of 'automatic' 'disabled' or 'manual'. next to that is a 'modify' choice.

Below that it says 'Novatel Wireless Ovation U727' There is a check mark next to that and I have it set to 'automatic'.

Further down there are several choices with boxes to check or uncheck:

__ Allow simultaneous connections
__ Prompt before switching connections

none of that will help. You can by-pass the connection manager entirely by using your modem in a DUN (dial up networking) configuration:

Start> Connect To> Show All Connections ...right click your modem that's under "Dial-up" and select connect

See if that helps
