Thanks. I have the latest version when I checked that link. Thank you for that.

Under the "hardware" tab, I did find something like what might be what you were referring to:

It says 'devices' then way over to the right it says 'selection' 'status' and 'settings'.

Below that, it says 'mobile devices' and has the choices of 'automatic' 'disabled' or 'manual'. next to that is a 'modify' choice.

Below that it says 'Novatel Wireless Ovation U727' There is a check mark next to that and I have it set to 'automatic'.

Further down there are several choices with boxes to check or uncheck:

__ Allow simultaneous connections
__ Prompt before switching connections

none of that will help. You can by-pass the connection manager entirely by using your modem in a DUN (dial up networking) configuration:

Start> Connect To> Show All Connections ...right click your modem that's under "Dial-up" and select connect

See if that helps
