If magic jack does not work then the only way another voip would work is if his computer is causing an issue and a stand alone ata bypasses that issue.
And that comment is pretty much MJ's biggest problem. "Computer caused issues" is what makes MJ a questionable product for mainstream masses. I like MJ but I'd take a SIP desktop adapter anyday over the darn USB device.
