OT: Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all my fellow Dad's in the Pub Games forum. I hope your day is full of love and relaxation.

I've been watching golf all day. The rain over the past week made for US Open catch up. We had steak, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, and beer for dinner.

Yum!

Re: OT: Happy Father's Day

My wife let me play Civ III all day. I canned pickles (that is what I requested to do on father's day). For dinner we had bratwurst and cabbage

Re: OT: Happy Father's Day

Yay?

This weekend has been a nightmare due to family problems (not the wife and I, fortunately, but we're heavily involved).

My wife got me a camera lens (Canon 50mm f/1.8 II aka the "Thrifty Fifty") and we're having my dad over for dinner this evening: Grilled Salmon, Baby Red Potatoes with Lemon Butter and Salad.

Happy father's day all!

You are NOT my Daddy. Infact, I'm pretty sure my Daddy could take you. :P lol
But yes, Happy Dad's Day to all!

Re: OT: Happy Father's Day

It's not a tumor!

Dez: Bratwurst and cabbage sounds delicious. On a side note, I just tore a cabbage out of my garden. It overtook the basil and one of the pepper plants, and just wasn't worth it. Attracted the wabbits too.

Drew: Sorry you had a rough weekend. I'm glad you got something you wanted for Father's Day, though. I plan on grilling salmon for my wife's birthday coming up in July. Yummy!

Yes Happy Belated Fathers Day to all!! I slept in due to a late night. Wasn't hungry for breakfast since our kids stayed over at the grandparents house Sat. night. Went to my parents house for most of the day. Ate a nice Turkey sandwich with pea salad. Came back home and plopped on the bed and watched the UFC fight from Sat. night, watched Ice Road Truckers, and that's about it. Nice and easy going day. It was great. Oh BTW, my dad looks at vagina's all day!! LOLL!!

Re: OT: Happy Father's Day

Another belated father's day from me. I spent 4 days practically offline and it was pretty cool. Last night we grilled some hamburgers, had a nerf gun fight, then made smores and caught lightning bugs. Overall a great time was had!

For a few reasons:

1) Offline isn't "pretty cool." It's actually "not cool at all."
2) Your facebook status said it was lady bugs, not lightning bugs. Lynch all liars.

Lightning bugs are cooler than ladybugs. A ladybug dive bombed me on Saturday Night; landed right on my sunglasses. I jumped like a little girl. My daughters laughed at me.

The shame.....

Re: OT: Happy Father's Day

Cool. I just looked it up on line. Was it tough to put together? Looked rather complex. Gorgeous kite, though!

My daughter got me a card with a 50's dad in an armchair with the Darth Vader helmet on. Speech bubble said "While your under my fully operational battle station's roof, you follow my rules!" On the back was a smaller insert of the same picture with "If all your friends jumped off the death star, would you too?!"

I love it.

as far as the kite, was not tough to put together, some of the sticks were too loose, and one was a touch short, nothing duct tape around the end to make it harder to pull free didn't take care of. But transporting the kite I think may become a pain.

Might it be worth it to disassemble (johnny five) it if you plan on transport?
