iPod Touch ZyWall Log Entries

Whenever my iPod Touch connects to my wireless network, I get the following in my ZW5 log as (WLAN --> WLAN/ZyWall) entries.

I believe these 224.*.*.* are broadcast stuff, is that correct?

Any idea why the iPod would be doing this?

As you can see, my default firewall setup is dropping these, should I allow them?

Thanks!

According to IANA 224.0.0.251 is multicast DNS, »www.multicastdns.org/

Is that traffic something I "should" be allowing for the sake of the iPod?

I assume your iPod works just fine now, so I'd guess no.
In general it is for your LAN and for the iPod to discover servers and their names on your LAN, it will most likely not work across your ISP's network anyway so no need to allow it.

The thing is I am trying to get the iPod Touch Remote App to work. If you are not familiar, this app allows one to remotely control their iTunes over a network (in this case my local home network) so I am thinking I may need to allow this in order to get this to work.

How is this multicast different from the Network / LAN / LAN TCP/IP / Multicast dropdown in the ZW5 configuration?
