[game] Crazy Game 4 - Day 3

The black SUV pulled up to the next victim's house. They silently got out of the vehicle and creeped up to the kitchen window. Instead of their intended victim, boudro See Profile was cleaning dishes. The mafiosos looked at each other and shrugged as if to say, "Well, one is better than none!" After all, it was almost dawn and they couldn't go after anyone else this evening.

The single gunshot to the forehead was never felt by boudro See Profile as he hit the floor.

boudro See Profile, the town's doublevoter, has been killed.

Maybe some Nexus action?

I think they tried to kill Dez just to get some info on his Nexus claim and it was true.

I would have thought that the mafia went for the Nexus kill on night 1, seeing that they killed one of their own. Could there have been a bus driver?

We couldn't possibly have two Nexii could we?

Now I am confused... did Dez claim Nexus on Day 1? Could someone point me to where that was?

I am sure there could be a bus driver too.... but I disagree with GBcue... I don't think mafia would have taken the chance of a random kill.... they would want to it a sure thing.. but as we said looks like there was another switch.

Re: [game] Crazy Game 4 - Day 3

The flavor text seems to indicate that the mafia were not expecting this, so I believe some kind of power was at work. From what I've read of roles, it would be either the nexus or a bus driver. This is a crazy game, though, so it might be something different entirely.

We'll have to wait and see. No one has voted anyone yet. I have no investigatory powers or anything, so I'm going to re-read some of the old threads to see if anything jumps out with how people voted.

We can only do so many of those. I'd like to reiterate my points made earlier in this game that I believe that at least a handful of the mafia are sitting in the shadows. The only confirmed we knew about was Chlen and he said just barely enough to keep active. There are others who are saying even less. We're voting off the most active players and suspecting others who are getting killed off in the night phase and they're all town.

I think if we're going to stab in the dark here, we need to actually go to the dark and start looking for lurkers.

I agree... but it happens all the time. The logic is that when people are "lurking" they may actually be town... because the mafia is trying to mess with people's heads.

It seems that more often than not that lurkers are actually townspeople.

Well, our approach of lynching the suspicious isn't working, what do you suggest? You're so very critical of anyone who bounces ideas around, but offer up no solutions.

I agree that the flavor text suggests a switch, and I also agree that I think they wouldn't go for a nexus again.

I'm also glad that there's only one who died this time, and not 2.

I'm kind of at a loss right now. I want to hear what everyone else thinks too. Especially shadow people.

I'm not critical... just cautious.

I will be the first to admit I am not the best player of this game. That is why I never offer a solution. I had done that in several games in the past and the mafia does a good job of saying "Hey that is mafia thinking... let's lynch him" and I am the next person to go.

Right now... I have nothing really to go on either that is why I don't have any solutions either.

Name anyone who looks suspicious? I honestly don't know if we have anything to og on in the voting patterns... we have one person slipping mentioning a cult (but I explained my thought on that type of slip up yesterday).

Zandra... my guess is we won't get much info from the people in the background... seems like we have that in a lot of games and even when we pressure them we don't get much from them. =-/

So right now .. I am at a loss too.

His posts regarding going after those in the shadows have been frequent. Is it to draw attention away from the loudmouths for some reason? That would also include you and I, and a few others. Not quite ready to vote yet, but I'm actually looking at both you and Archivis right now.

Re: [game] Crazy Game 4 - Day 3

I agree with almost every post. I have VERY limited posting activity till at least late tomorrow. I read what I could quickly, and from what I'm picking up... Archivis is getting more and more pushy with the "shadows" people. I tend to agree with it somewhat, but at the same time, if you just go with that theory, then all mafia has to do is talk alot and they'll be safe. I think they quiet ones are dead weight, but doesn't mean they are mafia. We didn't get one of them this day/night so it would be good if anything that pops up is said more and we do what we can.

Vote: Jim

To continue my vote for yesterday as well, since boudo was cleared, and gbcue was in the same "category/situation" as him... I still don't think all 3 were coincidences... wonder how happy Jim's fingers are now.

Re: [game] Crazy Game 4 - Day 3

A couple of things that I read in my Day 2 re-read. If it comes to a vote, I'll post my thoughts. As of now, it's not strong at all. I have stronger suspicion of Archivis, but again, not enough to vote yet.

I did re-read the Jim section, and find that's not strong enough for me to vote on either. It really does look like a happy fingers mistake. The deeper thought on that might be that typing fast is like talking to someone when you're really drunk. The truth comes out subconsciously. That's not much to go on either, but it's a thought worth mentioning.

Are you paying attention as to why we are voting? The only lead we really have is his mistake in the last day's thread. We are putting pressure back on for that reason. Even you stated you have nothing to go on. Are you protecting him for some reason?

No worries, I'm putting pressure somewhere else now. Your posts have been on the fringe of my suspicion for a while now. This one takes the cake. Not an OMGUS:

Bjl: Did you read Gbcue's defense up to and including his near role claim? That's why I'm not looking at him anymore. Like I said before, I don't have a huge suspicion on Jim, but pressuring him sounded fine since there is little else to go on.

I want to press Bjl a little bit on why he still is on Gbcue and the cult slip. Either he didn't read into Gbcue's defense posts, or he's scum.
I'm having trouble keeping up, so don't go all psychotic on me. I never said that Gbcue was the top candidate for suspicion. however, what I remember is Gbcue being more suspicious than Jim. I think I need to go back and read Gbcue's posts more carefully. Also, if people are voting Jim based solely on what he wrote in the post I linked, the case is very weak.

FYI, Jim offline for almost 3 days. You could be right about the slip-up, but it could be a brainfart similar to what Zandra did earlier in this game.

BR is a loose cannon. I've tried countlessly to get him to offer up his idea of what's going on, but he won't. He'll FoS every single one of us, but won't offer up his ideas. Why not? Afraid to slip up? I don't understand. Is this just normal playstyle or is he just trying to spread blame and doubt on everyone except for himself?

The problem is... I highly doubt an investigative power will come out and expose themselves like that. I know I would be afraid to.

I realize we should still have a doctor alive... but then again, with a nexus or two or a bus driver... it just seems like too risky of a move... especially this early.

To me, Jim's post looks like a mistake (remove the word "not" and it's pretty clear). I think the Mafia would be more careful with their posts. This doesn't clear him in my book, but it's not damning, either.

Anyway, to put some pressure on the less active...

Sorry I was absent from this game. I had other things to attend to.

This is in response to those who want me to 'explain' my 'slip'.
There is really very little I can say. I worded my post badly and inadvertently twisted a comment making it look like I was glad a townie would get hung. If I was mafia, that would not have happened. I only 'slip up' like that when I feel comfortable in my position as a town member. My only goal was to get information to help us find the scum. If you feel I'm the most likely suspect today, go ahead and lynch me. It will not be a huge loss for the town and it will certainly clear up some confusion, but only as to my role. My death will not help the town.

I agree with BigReds, they wanted to Kill a certain player, but got Boudro instead. One is better than none for them, right?
I would assume the switcheroo was because of a Bus Driver, because a Nexus would yield results too unpredictable for the Mafia to take the chance.

Any other thoughts, CatSnak?

That makes sense. I'm doing some re-reading myself to find some breadcrumbs and claims that I might have missed.

No other thoughts for the moment. I think I have a handle on a couple I'm sure are townies but I don't have any vibes on potential scum at the moment.

Anyway people, no rush, but we should start articulating our suspicions so we can work up a good suspect list. There is a bunch of information out there, but most of it seems to benefit the Mafia more than us, unfortunately.

If you feel the need to make me outright spell my role out for you, then maybe suspicion needs to be put on you. This is the very reason I'm voting for BigReds. How many more people need to paint targets on their head before we lose the game?
