Re: [FireFox] Firefox 3.5 - Final

Why can't they get this fixed? I have no issues with this right now, but I know people do. I see no point in upgrading when this issue is still not fixed, and may even be worse. I hope they take the time to address it rather than rush out the final.

Memory Leak wise, I notice I am stable between 90-115k of memory, which is the lowest I have had since Firefox 2.x

Performance is MUCH better than what it was with previous versions, and my memory is very stable after running it for the last 3 hours with no issues or slowdowns at all.

Time will tell I guess over the next few days and when the final is released.

So far, so very good.

Grail Knight - Perhaps I missed it in another thread but will your 3.x speed tweaks stickied up top this forum work well with the 3.5 final?

I have been running your tweaks since you first released them and have become a fan. No FF install happens without them.

The speed tweaks are unchanged for v3.5+ or the official once available.

It has now been released as a final. The digital signature has the same time stamp as RC3.

Seems like a nice improvement.

Definitely final.

Now just to wait for the plugins I use to get updated... I might be waiting a while though.

I had to go to the developer's sites to get compatible versions for two of my extensions, but both work just fine.

No aero theme yet.. It looks so weird!

Haven't noticed any big differences so far.

1 key addon not working yet - Google Gears. This addon supports Offline mode for both Gmail & Google Reader where the emails and stories can be backed up locally on your PC.

All the rest of my addons work. Google developer says they are working on it, but waited until Mozilla actually delivered the full release of 3.5.

The .exe shows this:

In about:config reset that string to default and restart Firefox.

P.S.>> Isn't there a useragent addon? Maybe you should disable it if you are using that addon. »https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59

Tested 3.5 on 2 Vista systems and on Win7 RC and other than 1 addon not working yet, everything working fine. Speed is improved over 3.0.11 and pages snap to the screen almost instantly - even my MyYahoo page which is loaded with tons of customized options.

P.S.>> the new feature that saves text typed in to a form in the browser if you terminate the browser by mistake works as claimed. I tested a post in dev/null forum; terminated the browser; restarted it and all the text typed in to the forum post was still there when the browser was restarted.
