My brother took pity on me, and gave me his old Gigabyte GA-59SLI-S5 motherboard. I installed it in my case with all the same parts that I had in the XFX build. It now works fine again.

Per XFX customer support I have tried setting the mb on the non static bag, and removing everything but the cpu, and memory. It goes to a screen that says Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. Since I don't have a boot device I can't do it. I then added back the hard drive and end up with the AMI screen not showing the hard drive, and bios not showing it either. I reset the cmos and it shows the hard drive in the AMI screen, but not in the bios.

This is driving me crazy.

AMD 64 x4800 processor
2x 1024 Corsair PC6400
Ultra LS600 power supply
Seagate 500GB serial ata
Seagate 160GB serial ata
LG DVDRW

Everything was running fine for about 7-8 months, and then yesterday it crashed. I restarted it and it gets to the post screen giving me the option to display post, or go into Bios. I went into the bios and it shows no hard drives.

So, I swapped out hard drives, and same thing. I changed the cables, and same thing. I swapped out power supply, same thing. I used parts from another computer that is running, so I know that they work. I reset the cmos (pulled battery and let sit for 30min), I reset bios, tried secondary bios, and still won't show the hard drive. I even tried swapping out ram, but same thing. Any ideas would be helpfull.
