I downloaded redsn0w this morning from the dev blog website-

and so far it is running well. I only installed Cydia vs Icy, but the initial feedback is it is working just fine.
I put the 3.0 IPSW on my desktop so when I was prompted for it it was easy to find.
According to quickpwn.com the Dev Team may no longer work on quickpwn for 3.0.

ultrasn0w is not coming soon for the 3G S. Ultrasn0w is the unlock for the iPhone 3G. It'll be downloadable through Cydia and goes hand in hand with redsn0w.
Basically it will further yellowsn0w as yellowsn0w can't be used with the 3.0 OS, but ultrasn0w will solve that problem. |

Thank you ptrowski, keep us, or me at least, informed of any mishaps or problems. I didnt use notifier, but any issues with cycorder, or any other of the apps from Cydia? On another note, I found my 3g acting up a bit with 3.0. It kind of bothered me. Did you see anything 'off' before the jb on 3.0? |

I didn't get around to jailbreaking yet but here's something I think I've noticed: I use the "sleep ipod" function a lot with a number of non-iPod audio apps. This worked *flawlessly* in 2.2.
In 3.0 I have noticed that at least once if not twice, after setting up the sleep function and starting up a streaming audio app that it doesn't shut off like it used to. I wake up hours later with the audio (still?) on.
I say "still?" because this happened to me last night (which annoyed me to no end): set up sleep function for 1 hour; start up simplify media for an audio book chapter; manually "pause" simplify media but not exit app before the hour was up; the hour comes around and simplify media started up again. wth!?
Didn't have anything like this happen with OS2.2 and I basically use this function every night and rarely with the native iPod app  |

I downloaded redsn0w yesterday to jailbreak/unlock my old first-gen iPhone so that my wife can use it as an iPod at the gym.
Then answer I can't find anywhere is the following:
When you complete the jailbreak process, does it leave your phone blank? In other words, do you have to re-sync all of your previous data or do a restore from your previous data?
Or does the phone reboot and have all of your stuff still on there, it's just now "jailbroken" ???
