I will be going to college this fall and majoring in networking. Are there any special parts/programs I should have on my laptop? |

| reply to me1212 I highly recommend Lo-Jack for laptops. It's a one-time fee that will be well worth it if your dorm or car gets broken into while you're at school! -- I know nothing about computers, I'm just married to a geek who does! |

Be wary of the M15x's casing. I'm not sure if they are still having the casing issues near the screen/hinge that many people have been having with it. Of course, the Studio's casing isn't exactly super great either. Some people feel that the Studios have somewhat flimsy/cheap plastic casing too (but not susceptible to cracking like the M15x's sometimes do).
The M15x will probably give you the best GPU/Gamer options compared to the Studio, which is more (seems to me) of a jack-of-all-trades/everything laptop.
You can check out and just read some of the threads on notebook forums if you are curious. Most of them have separate sections for the different brands and so forth. That might give you a better idea about both laptops and the issues/complaints people have about them. -- Screw the money, I have rules. Wait, let me try that again! |

@qwest.net | reply to me1212 Get an external harddrive for backup. Backup your work to it and also on the universities computer. Backup often. Never want a glitch to destroy hours or days of homework. |
