Re: [ADSL] Does anyone have a BT Yahoo! broadband account?

I've had one since dial-up then ISDN now ADSL. Many years.

I would say, on the whole, they have been 'ok'.

By that I mean there have been issues, but they have gotten things sorted eventually.

The latest is getting throttled for breaking the unspecified FUP on my 'unlimited' account.

I will be looking around for another provider, but I admit I may not find one with a better FUP.

I know Be and O2 have truly unlimited downloads, but, to be honest, that's not a good idea - I will be one of those people trying to play games when folks, knowing Be/O2 don't throttle or limit P2P, are doing huge downloads.

Throttling and management needs to happen, but it needs to be clear and transparent what the rules are and you need good and adequate reporting on your usage and your quality of service.

I've had one for years. Started out as direct with BT, then they migrated to the Yahoo platform a few years ago.

I've never had problems with it.

Most likely will keep it until I can be bothered to change over to a free service, but at the moment that hassle is not worth the saving of £1.50 per month that it costs me.

Does anyone have a BT Yahoo! broadband account?

How long have you had it?
Do you like your service? How long do you think you will keep the service (# years)?
