Re: speedstream 5200 said by BobbyS:I have 2 Speedstream 5200 that I cannot log into. I did the re-set thing. What "reset thing" did you do? Simply pushing the reset button does nothing at all. There is a specific procedure that must be followed exactly instead.

BobbyS join:2008-03-02 Montreal, QC | Thanks for the replies. I was doing the reset correctly. I was not able to connect via 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.254.254. I am able to get into both of the modems by using the suggested technique of setting my nic to 10.0.0.2 and doing the arp and mac address routine. This worked on both modems. Unfortunately, when I attempt to change the host info to a standard like 192.168.0.1 and reboot, I am locked out again. I have been playing with these modem at work without a dsl line, just the network connection and a pc. |

None of the info I posted suggested that you continue to try 192.168.254.254 as none of the Bell Canada Modems have ever used that IP Address. Only Retail Router/Modems use that IP. ISPs tend to opt for non-standard LAN IPs.
What Default Gateway IP did you get from the 060-e240-033 Modem after running the "ipconfig /all" command?
A DSL Line is not required to access the LAN interface.
I'll ask the Mods to move this Topic to the Bell Canada Forum since they wrote the FAQs and are the experts on these particular Modems. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |
