Re: still no FIOS in DC but Comcast saves the day

Picture quality of Comcast in DC is HORRIBLE! One of the worst I've seen around. Data has been decent.

My picture quality is incredibly sharp with my TIVO. I don't have anything to compare it to as FIOS won't be widely available in the nation's capital for another 4 years.

Picture quality of all cable, especially HD channels, is demonstrably inferior to FIOS. Cable doesn't have the bandwidth to feed true HD signals and is forced to compress them.

My friends in the city, were FIOS TV still isn't available, routinely travel to our place to watch the UFC events, Hockey championships, Superbowl etc etc because the picture on the same Panasonic Viera plasmas just plain sucks and they're paying more to boot. It's only a matter of time as ALL of them are already FIOS customers the minute it becomes available.

Comcast is all hype and they lost me as a customer FOREVER.

FIOS won't be widely available in DC until 2014. 5 years is a very long time and it will be an entirely different competition by then.
