[Microsoft] MN-730 Extremely Slow

Hi,

I was looking for a bit of assistance. I recently installed a semi-old microsoft mn-730 wireless adapter into my vista x64 machine and am using it to connect to a netgear wpn824v2. My network, however, seems to be going unreasonably slow, not only for my speed of internet, but my wireless signal as well. I usually have around a "very good" signal, and am on a broadband connection, but often times it takes up to 5 minutes to load a page (if it doesn't time out first).

Now, I read up on the "incompatibility" between the card and vista x64 but I also learned of a nice little patch (for those who need it, it can be found »social.technet.microsoft.com/For···58162ea7 ). Now, the microsoft card is running under a broadcom driver and it has a fair amount better speed, however it still goes up and down all the time, and pinging the router is at best 1024ms (out of a couple trys and timeouts).

First, anyone know of any other, better fixes with the mn-730 and vista x64? And/or is it possilby caused by both the router and card using 2.4GHz frequency (that has caused problems for me in the past with this card)?
