1 edit | ZyXEL NBG334W Failure
Hello all:
I posted a few months ago (»ZyXEL NBG334W Reviews?) asking for reviews on the NBG334W. If you recall that thread, the first device I received was dead on arrival (would light up, but not hand out IP addresses or respond to a reset).
I got a replacement from the vendor, and it seemed to work OK for a few months. Fast forward to today...this piece of crap is doing the same thing as the last one that was DOA. It magically stopped working today. I'm not getting an IP address on any machine connected to it, I can't access the configuration page (can't ping it either, which is obvious if I'm not getting an IP address) and it's not responding to a reset.
I initially chalked up the first one to a bad batch...but the chances of the second dying the same way are a bit too much to swallow. Needless to say, I will no longer buy any ZyXEL equipment. |

| I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck. However, I can say that the NBG334W has been nothing but good to me. I have one of my own and three that I support and have had zero problems with them. I have had mine since they first came out and got the other three because of the features and lack of problems with it. -- Gadgets |

1 edit | No, the support technician from Zyxel I spoke to originally recommended that I just return it to Buy.com, which I did. So I packed up the entire box and they shipped a brand new one.
What do I need to do to get an RMA? I've already bought a Netgear to replace it, but if I can get this brick replaced with one that works, it will be nice to hold on to. |

| reply to Hazy Arc I got my NBG334W with the G202 adapter back in early March this year from Buy.com, through eBay, for $32.00 including shipping. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much for the price, but several posters here highly recommended it, so I went for it despite never having heard of ZyXEL..
I unboxed it and hooked it up and it was a pleasant surprise from the beginning. Got 1 desktop hardwired to it and run a couple of other machines off it wirelessly through the house. I'm just using the NBG334W router since the old NetGear USB G-adaptors I had were still good. I've just put the G202 adaptor away until I may need it.
Mines been working flawlessly for over 3 months now, and I've done considerable bragging about it. I'll be disappointed if it craps out on me before the 2 year warranty expires. I just don't like going through router failures more than once every 5-6 years or so... -- Terry

| I also purchase the NBG334W kit, ie. the router and G-202 USB adapter, just before Christmas. I lucked out and got it for $20. Great device so far with no issues what so ever. I can even use the G-202 on my Ubuntu laptop without jumping through a lot of hoops to get drivers loaded, etc... -- "When all else fails, read the instructions..." | After I got my initial replacement, it worked great for a while. Apparently I have horrible luck when it comes to ordering things from the internet (An Xbox 360 I ordered new from Amazon around Christmas came with a disc drive that was broken out of the box. ) |

| Did you contact ZyXEL about getting the failed unit replaced? If not I would call them up.
