The pyramid stage has some strange acts on this year. I wonder how many are going there just to see Status Quo... I'd love to see Neil Young though.

Who are you going to watch?

Loads! I've some prelim ideas but I think the best thing to do is define a 'top band' must see list then wander around for the rest of the time until you see/find something you like - it generally doesn't take long

And you're probably just as glad that it's not this week.

Oooohhhh! I see it was "Beam me up, Scotty" time! And then there's the picture of your family.

Now, is the third picture sort of a belated Ascot celebration or is it to illustrate that there are no (American) Republicans showing up at Glasto? (God knows, they're running out of other places to go, what with Argentina now sort of off-limits.)

Incidentally, I was traveling through Reading on Ladies Day and it was a right treat, especially at the Three Guineas -- had to delay my departure for Heathrow for an hour or so just to take in the sights -- as it were. (Pray the wife doesn't read this!)

I'd noticed a certain proliferation of hats on the train down from Birmingham. And (it seemed to me) a general over-abundance of the slightly pissed for 10 AM on a Thursday, but maybe that's just from a lack of sufficient exposure to British Rail travel.

Whaddaya mean "What's happening this week?" Don't you know you've been prostrated by a heat wave? (Thought it was something else, I'll bet.) Lemme just check here ... yep, should be pushing 30 tomorrow, which is what we'd consider a nice pleasant day in Virginia this time of year.

Nah, you were just in Reading m8

Yes, I noticed it is a tadge warmer for the time of year. I wondered if I'd missed something having been out of touch for the past 5 days or so...

The Tent Grapevine swang into full effect on Friday @ Glasto as someone had apparently dropped dead. - Then again, Tents have never really been that sound proof - sadly... By Saturday, the stalls were selling 'Jacko is Dead' Tee shirts.

Can you imagine if the army hit glasto with a tactical nuke?

The whole contingent of the UK's hippies and strange people would be wiped out in one fell swoop.

Makes me warm just thinking about it

You need to get out in the countryside more.

Given that by their inherent design, all 'nukes' are indiscriminate, what is a "tactical nuke"?

BTW, the 'hippy image' seems to have stuck to Glasto, it is more middle class than anything else, in my exp NEhow.

Pseudo/plastic-hippys?
