In most markets where FIOS is deployed people have literally fallen all over themselves to get it. If anything, it means the market price for FIOS is indeed too low and VZ has recognized this.
That is a very good point and I think it's because of a trend I've seen coming for years and years. Society as a whole is becoming more technical and listening to what us geeks have to say. If we are excited as hell about something, then it must be good.

This is happening to a lesser extent in my neighborhood too. North State came in and laid a GPON network down, offered faster speeds than Time Warner, at a lower price. People are gobbling it up and when I talk tech with my neighbors, they wind up switching. They are floored that they can save money and double or triple their speeds.
