If you connect one computer directly to your WB modem, then you will be able to change the proxy settings in Firefox to test whether using or not using one of WB's proxies would work for you. If successful, the next step would be to make your router use the proxy.

Go Daddy is still delivering the site fine, and some Wild Blue are getting it while others are not. It's very frustrating because over on the WB forum, where I've been blocked from posting by the admin (?? at least it appears this way, though I've been posting via proxy), there's a whole lot of "it's NOT WB's fault." But I'm not so sure now.

ES, I did see the solution you found for the one person, but I'm not sure how to try it out, nor if it's even the same situation as ours.

I'll know more Monday and will post what I find. As well to the WB forum. At least I know it's not a problem in our office area network.

This worked for one person.
I have resolved this issue. I can tell you what I did to fix this. I had assigned IP addresses for my host computers so I can open and close ports when needed for different applications. Under the preferred and alternate DNS server settings on my network adapters, I used the DNS server addresses that are popsted on the WB admin page. These are no longer working when connecting to godaddy sites (I don't know why, but they aren't). I used 12.213.112.61 which I got from telneting into my router config and the godaddy sites are working again.

Since the error returned is "The connection was reset," not a DNS or page not found error, using Open DNS will probably not solve the problem. Using Open DNS will require you to use a direct connection to the Internet, that is, present your real IP to the Go Daddy site. In this configuration your site will not load for me either. In one of your posts above you indicated that your original proxy setting was to use a direct connection. This is the setting that is causing the problem. You must use a proxy. Lacking experience in routers I do not know how to give you instructions to set the proxy in your router, but I do know that changing the setting in your computer while using a router will not make any difference. The Go Daddy site will see the IP presented by your router through the WB servers. A web based proxy works because the Go Daddy site only sees the servers from the web based proxy.

The proxy address does not belong in a location for a DNS address. In Firefox it belongs in the Window entitled "Connection Settings" which I gave you instructions for how to access in a previous post. Select the option for "Manual proxy configuration" and put it in the box for that option. If there is a check box for "Use this proxy server for all protocols," then put a check in the box to enable it. These instructions will only work if your computer is directly connected to your WB modem. In Firefox you do not need to reboot after changing network setting. A router might need to be power cycled.

Not sure how to find the WB proxy, though I think I see where I'd need to add it in my network preferences (there's the one already there for WB, grayed out so I can't delete); I'd just add it, yes?

The IP of the Syracuse proxy for WB-1 is 75.104.128.60. Try putting this IP in your router as a manual proxy. If this does not work, I'll post the IP of one of the other proxies for you to try.

I think your solution will be to set your router to use the WB proxy at your gateway.

In my opinion this problem loading Go Daddy sites is related to conflicts between settings on the Go Daddy and Wildblue servers. There has been a report that WB knows about this problem but refuses to alter their setting to fix it because only a few customers have the problem.
