Re: [shared] hosting files on two servers fail over?

I assume these are shared hosting packages, and not your own VPS/Dedicated server?

If one hit the bandwidth limit, you'd have to change the IP, or the nameservers manually with your registrar, to point to the other server you wanted it on...and it wouldn't be instant, I think there may be some downtime...since DNS will have to pick up the new IP.

There is one way I can think of doing this, if you have access to the DNS on spikedhosting. Say you have a setup like this :

domain.com and your set the registrar to do ns1.spikedhosting.com, and ns2.spikedhosting.com, and you hit your limit, with WHM, you could quickly (still manually) change the WWW ip address on DNS to the other shared IP address on webhosting buzz.

If you want load balancing, you are looking at something a little more expensive then what you would probably want to spend....or cloud hosting.
