Re: Horrible latency on WOW

I Play wow too and sometimes it's just where you are in the game server. Also try to play on a server you know is closer to you, this is hard cuz I know my guild plays on a server that is on the east cost but I'm in the central time zone. I played on a Chicago based server and was getting 75 ms all the time changed to the server the guild was playing on and got 90-300 ms avg. So...might just be the server!!

Well I think my problem was a corrupted file. I am now reinstalling to see if that fixes it. My pings are all fine but in game latency sucks.

The only common denominator I see is your computer setup...especially if you only see the slowdown while running WoW through Wine.

Its only in the game. trace routs all come out fine. About 100ms.
But when I get in game it just jumps up huge, like its not connecting, but it does receive info.

Post some traceroutes. Embarq is not throttling WoW.

@embarqhsd.net

After getting back from working away for a few months I came back to find that when I try to play wow I get horrible latency. I can ping all servers and they are fine but when I get in the game it just dies. I am running through Wine on linux, but I have previously played and had fine. I have been trying to figure out the problem but it escapes me. The only thing that I can think of is that Embarq is throttling wow, but that just sounds stupid. But if any one
