 [Modem] Frequent Random Disconnects

Been having very frequent disconnects lately. I've got the Speedstream 5100, and the Internet light will shut off intermittently. Sometimes it will reconnect on its own soon after, other times, I have to cycle the modem. Think my modem is on its way out?

1) Which AT&T DSL Package do you have –
Elite (6.0Mbps down)

2) Which modem brand and model do you have?
Speedstream 5100, 5 lights

3) Are you using a router? If so, provide the brand and model.
Linksys WRT-54GL flashed with DDRT IIRC

4) Is your PPPoE login info (username & password) entered in the modem, in your router or do you use PPPoE software?

5) Describe the lights on the modem when the trouble occurs.
Internet light goes from solid green to completely off. Sometimes it will go from solid green to flashing red, then back to solid green.

6) Confirm that you’ve checked to ensure that ALL devices plugged into the wall jacks serviced by your DSL phone number (except the DSL modem) have filters fitted.
Filters installed, and we've got the main line filtered by ATT.

7) Confirm that you’ve powered off the modem and started it again and whether or not that made any changes with your problem.
Cycling the modem sometimes works right away, sometimes takes 5 minutes give or take to reconnect and go from a blank Internet light, to a solid green light.

8) Do you hear any type of noise on the DSL phone line or any other unusual telephone symptoms?
Occasionally has a very high pitched sound, but have had that sound since I've had the modem.

9) Provide line stats as follows…

Your attenuation seems to be on the edge for Elite, and your SNR is rock bottom for reliable synch. Suggest that you post in the AT&T Direct forum and see if the techs their can sort out your line. I suspect you are on the edge for Elite; maybe need to go to Interleaved path, or even back off to Pro.
