Suggest that you post in the AT&T Direct forum and see if the techs their can sort out your line. <title>[Modem] Frequent Random Disconnects</title>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1653542"><b>mrflip69</b></A> : Been having very frequent disconnects lately. I've got the Speedstream 5100, and the Internet light will shut off intermittently. Sometimes it will reconnect on its own soon after, other times, I have to cycle the modem. Think my modem is on its way out?<br><br>1) Which AT&T DSL Package do you have &#150; <br>Elite (6.0Mbps down)<br><br>2) Which modem brand and model do you have? <br>Speedstream 5100, 5 lights<br><br>3) Are you using a router? If so, provide the brand and model.<br>Linksys WRT-54GL flashed with DDRT IIRC<br><br>4) Is your PPPoE login info (username & password) entered in the modem, in your router or do you use PPPoE software?<br>Modem<br><br>5) Describe the lights on the modem when the trouble occurs. <br>Internet light goes from solid green to completely off. Sometimes it will go from solid green to flashing red, then back to solid green.<br><br>6) Confirm that you&#146;ve checked to ensure that ALL devices plugged into the wall jacks serviced by your DSL phone number (except the DSL modem) have filters fitted.<br>Filters installed, and we've got the main line filtered by ATT.<br><br>7) Confirm that you&#146;ve powered off the modem and started it again and whether or not that made any changes with your problem.<br>Cycling the modem sometimes works right away, sometimes takes 5 minutes give or take to reconnect and go from a blank Internet light, to a solid green light. <br><br>8) Do you hear any type of noise on the DSL phone line or any other unusual telephone symptoms?<br>Occasionally has a very high pitched sound, but have had that sound since I've had the modem. <br><br>9) Provide line stats as follows&#133;<br><br>Line State UP <br>Modulation G.dmt <br>Data Path fast <br><br>  To Modem To Internet <br>Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 6016 768 <br>SN Margin (dB) 9.5 - <br>Line Attenuation (dB) 44.5 - <br>Loss of Signal 0 - <br>Loss of Frame 0 0 <br>CRC Errors 10 2 ]]></description>
