Hello. My browser has been hijacked and I think I might be infected with a trojan. Links that I click on are redirected to sites other than what I expect and my machine seems to be running something in the background (slow start-up, browsing, overall sluggish performance).

I have tried to use Spybot S&D, Ad-aware, Defender and Trend online virus scanner. Spybot crashes whenever I click "check for problems", Ad-aware found one problem and tried to fix/remove it however it (the problem) comes back when I reboot. Windows Defender will not update the definitions after I installed - I get an error from the server displayed on the update page itself, and the online virus scanner was running for 30+ minutes before I noticed that it hadn't made any progress past 'preparing'. Spybot and Ad-aware were both run in safe mode. The only thing I recognize in the log is the Vundo or rather, the Vundofix that I tried to use last year. IIRC, the fix itself might have been malware that I installed before I knew it was bad news. I thought I had gotten rid of everything then..everything seemed to be running normal up until a few days ago. I have tried to remove Vundofix with HJT however the entry was still there when I rebooted.

Thank you.

Edit: I failed to run/include Malwarebytes. Sorry it if seemed that I didn't read the forum instructions. I did, but at the same time I was composing my thread I had a cable tech here in my house and when I finally got back to my desk a couple hours later I hastily posted thinking I was done.

After a bit of research through this forum and the links found therein I was able to fix the problem this evening. My thanks to all who contribute to it.
