Carts are about as nasty as they come. Think of the all people that had there hands on that bar. When is the last time any one has seen them clean the carts? It would scare the hell out of people if they seen what grew in a petri dish and we put our hands right on that bar. LOL Yes the wheels piss me off in a bad way. The local grocery store here has antibacterial wipes in a dispenser just inside the door for customers who wish to wipe the handle off.
There is also a trash can for disposal of the debris that the previous inconsiderate slob has left in the cart.

The wipes are pointless given that all the stuff on the shelves has been handled by people. And just to be sure everyone shares, your cashier will handle everything again, passing the germs from the previous customer on to your goods. |

With all this sanitizer wipe talk just how many times do people see other people using them? On my end NONE! NEVER! So a lot of good they be when people never use them. The point is that carts are nasty! I know my self that I pick my ass when I am in the store. Man has to do what a man needs to do at the time. LMAOROTF
The two stores here have no sanitizer wipes.

| In our grocery stores now cashiers wear gloves or use hand sanitizer between checking out each person. Most everyone stops to get the wipes at the front of the stores and wipes off the wagon handle. I carry hand sanitizer in my purse now. No one here wants to get Swine flu. Maybe things will change once the vaccine is available. -- "The same ferocity that our founders devoted to protect the freedom and independence of the press is now appropriate for our defense of the freedom of the internet. I mean, I'm cool with the hand sanitizer, but I really don't see the need for wearing gloves, so long as you don't touch your nose or mouth (something I don't want to see a cashier doing anyway). -- We could use the £5,000 to buy a spoon. And then fill up with ice cream. |

Also if the gloves are Blue they're not latex which most companies use blue ones. |

| reply to thedragonmas The Walmart here has the deli workers pretty close to it. They've got paper hairnets, paper full frontal face masks (Not like a doctors, they're full frontal and on some people cover ears aswell), paper aprons, elbow-high plastic gloves, and what basically amount to waders (almost knee high rubber boots). The comical appearance aside, it doesn't go through my head as "Oh good I don't have to worry about bodily fluids/hair/feet ending up in my bologna" It's more of a "How bad are the sanitary conditions and the way employees handle food if they're being made to wear all that..." |
