Re: I am melting here in the Houston area

It was awful outside today. I went to Subway for lunch at about 11:15 AM, and it was already 94 degrees. And it felt like 101. And if you had to be outside for any reason, compounding the heat was a level red air pollution watch for today.

Fortunately, I work in an air conditioned electronics lab, where the temperature is kept around 72-73 degrees.

Yep, tell me about it. Saw on TV a few minutes ago that Austin got to 105 today. And it's just barely summer. What is it going to be when it gets hot the middle of July?

At least our humidity is only 27%, according to Weather Watcher.

I remember when we lived in Clear Lake City years ago, laughing about the weather being 95/95 (temp/hum).

This graph was in the Houston Chronicle yesterday (but not in the on-line article so had to scan it in). We have had higher than normal temps for June and are officially in a drought area.
