Isn't running 2 computers off a router just to surf the web technically taking 2 IP's anyways? I'm sure there are people on here who are running 3-4 (or more) PC's off one router. I know of course my dad's PC upstairs has a different IP than the one I'm on now.

I would never "screw" the system. With the WRT54GL, is it possible to use it strictly as a wired router, and disable the wireless aspect of it? I would never need the wireless side. That's if there is no other way to just change the log-in info on my D-Link, then I would have to look at getting a WRT54GL, or put up with the throttling. I don't do much downloading as it is.

not really. You would have one public IP and router would take care of distributing info to home network:

one 69.xxx.xxx.xxx connected to multiple 192.168.1.xxx computers
You can just disable wireless, as simple as that...
