[HN7000S] Registration Server Problem

At which stage in the "registration-installer" procedure will one realize that a preowned HN7000S was not decommissioned by hughes and thus cannot be brought to the "agreement pages" and the SID and SAN boxes?

I am not 100% sure but I believe that it will stop at the antenna pointing phase and show a signal strength of 30 and never go higher.

Stuck before the final step

Well, it passed the ACP-test, established sat comm, downloaded encryption keys and authentication was successful (at least that was what it said).
Normally I leave the box for the registration server empty and the system connects to the correct server IP automatically.
I tried that.
Also put in 66.82.19.27.
Then it would give me "failed to resolve IP address" and a "network timeout on "66.82.19.27".
So, could it still be that as I got that far that the modem is not free to be commissioned again?
Or is there something I should know at that critical step to get me further to the registration boxes?

I have had it hang where you are when everything is kosher and just required trying a couple hours later (with modem powered down)

Good chance there is a balance due if problem persists
Call Hughes and get thru to billing and ask them, be prepared with serial number of modem

Done, still the same.

This is what I am now suspecting.

You need to use IE to do the commissioning : Firefox doesn't work for this.

Re: [HN7000S] Registration Server Problem

Becasue it doesn't work on mine. Firefox failed to complete the commissioning, after several attempts I switched to IE and it and it worked with no problem. There are some pop up windows near the end of the process that don't "pop-up" in Firefox.

So, you have sucessfully performed a recomnissionong of an HN7000s with Firefox?

Re: [HN7000S] Registration Server Problem

The popup issue has to do with popup settings in FF or with popup addons. Either a person's settings have problems, as yours did, or they don't. When it works on one modem as mountainfrog says his did, it will work on any modem.

Commissioning with FF works fine for me, every time, and I've done it a lot!

Re: [HN7000S] Registration Server Problem

I'll take your word for it: I do have popup's disaabled in FF. The solution I offered came from Hughesnet tech support. I guess they thought it was simpler than having me change my FF settings, but they never asked if I had popups disabled.

It's far from clear what "it worked on other modems" means...what modems? other HN7000s's? different models? on the same pc?

Same PC/browser. Any version of modem - Hughes hasn't changed their registration process in years - if they ever do it will break some of my programs like PC-OPI, so I will know in a hurry.

Firefox worked on other modems, no problem.

Re: [HN7000S] Registration Server Problem

So you're not going to try IE?

Whatever, I'm quitting the advice business.
